CLARITY BEFORE COMMITMENT

Good questions.
Straightforward answers.

A little understanding makes the next step easier. Here is what to know about working with Eclipse.

Getting started

01Where do I start if I only have an idea?

Start with the idea and the people you want to reach. We can scope a discovery stage, concept development, or ghostwriting before a full manuscript exists. You do not need to know every publishing step before beginning.

02Can I choose just one service?

Yes. You can work with Eclipse on a single stage, such as editing or cover design, or build a coordinated scope across publishing, marketing, and web. We identify dependencies before work begins.

03Do I retain ownership of my manuscript?

Our service model is built around your work and your authorship. The written agreement should confirm manuscript ownership, ghostwriting terms, licenses for commissioned assets, and any third-party restrictions before you proceed.

04How are pricing and timelines determined?

We scope the work around manuscript length and condition, formats, creative complexity, revisions, and the services you need. A written proposal sets out deliverables, review points, fees, and schedule. Third-party charges are identified separately.

05Do you guarantee sales, rankings, or bestseller status?

No. We commit to an agreed scope of work, not outcomes controlled by readers, search engines, retailers, or media outlets. Publication approval, reviews, sales, rankings, and campaign returns cannot be guaranteed.

06Do you work with businesses as well as authors?

Yes. Our marketing, SEO, content, website, and branding services also support businesses. The same editorial approach applies: a clear message, considered presentation, and a useful path for the audience.

Writing & publishing

01Is this traditional publishing?

Eclipse offers publishing services scoped to your project. It is not an offer of a traditional publishing acquisition or an advance. Deliverables, fees, rights, and responsibilities should be agreed in writing before work begins.

02Do I need an ISBN?

That depends on your format, platform, and publishing route. We can explain the options and help you prepare the information required. ISBN ownership, registration costs, and imprint details should be decided before production.

03Can I start with only an idea?

Yes. Concept development and a chapter outline can be the first stage. You do not need to commission a full manuscript before clarifying the idea and scope.

04How involved will I be?

Expect discovery conversations, source sharing, and reviews at agreed milestones. Your input is especially important when the work draws on personal experience or specialist knowledge.

05What kind of editing do I need?

If the story or argument is still changing, begin with evaluation or developmental editing. If the structure is settled, line editing and copyediting are more useful. Proofreading belongs near the end, after layout.

06Will I be able to review changes?

Tracked changes, comments, or an editorial report can be included in the agreed delivery format. You review substantive decisions so the final manuscript remains aligned with your intent.

07Can I narrate my own book?

That can be considered. Recording quality, performance consistency, available time, and platform requirements should be assessed before committing to self-narration.

08Is distribution approval guaranteed?

No. We prepare files against the chosen specifications, but each platform or distributor controls its own review and acceptance.

Marketing & your presence

01Can you market a book that is already published?

Yes. We can review its positioning, listing, reader journey, and current channels, then identify a focused plan for ongoing visibility.

02Do you guarantee bestseller status?

No. Sales and rankings depend on readers, competition, platform behavior, and many other factors. We scope the work and measurement approach, not a guaranteed market outcome.

03How long does SEO take?

There is no fixed timeline. Technical fixes and new content are processed differently, and competitive changes can take time to evaluate. We establish a baseline and review progress over an agreed period.

04Do you offer local and technical SEO?

Yes. These are scoped within the same search strategy so technical fixes, local relevance, and content priorities support each other instead of becoming disconnected checklists.

05Can you redesign an existing website?

Yes. We review the current content and URLs, identify what to keep, and plan redirects and migration checks where needed.

06Will the site work on mobile?

Responsive behavior is part of the design and build, including navigation, typography, forms, and touch interactions across representative screen sizes.
